Perhaps it's the chipping gold paint, or the unique detailed pattern of each piece. Or even the imperfections that show signs of age and wear that draw me to these vintage Florentine pieces. I love detail, and all of these details combined have me smitten for this European style.
This past week I hit the jack-pot. Chris and I took a little drive to pick up a mirror I found on craigslist. When we arrived they had the mirror sitting right by the front door ready to go, but my eyes were quickly drawn to the next room where I noticed a gorgeous pair of vintage Florentine tables sitting oddly out of place. I asked if they were selling those as well, and she responded yes, 1250 each. I thought to myself, this lady is out of her mind. I then laughed inside and realized she meant twelve dollars and fifty cents. Luckily we brought just enough cash along to purchase and quickly get out of there before she changed her mind. I honestly felt bad for getting them so cheap! But as the saying goes, one mans trash is another mans treasure.
About a month ago while out chandelier shopping in St. Louis we came across these beauties. I instantly fell in love. What I love about the nesting tables is that its like a bonus buy. You get three tables in one. I love moving them about the house. They came from a favorite store of mine called the Emporium. They always have amazing European finds.
Now that I have shared my recent finds, I feel like I should share a few from the ones who have inspired me the most over the years.
One of my favorite Instagram accounts and blog to follow is Courtney's @frenchcountrycottage. She takes the most beautiful photos, and mixes new and old so well.
